Privacy Policy

auto-vid ("the app") is a personal tool that generates short videos and, when its owner chooses, publishes them to the owner's own social media accounts. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.
Information we access
The app only accesses accounts that its owner connects, and only with the permissions listed below. Each connection gives the app an OAuth token that lets it act on the owner's behalf within those permissions.
YouTube (Google)
youtube.upload: upload videos to the connected YouTube channel.
The app does not access your Google profile details, contacts, email, watch history, comments, analytics or any other YouTube or Google data.
TikTok
user.info.basic: your TikTok open ID, display name and avatar, used only to identify the connected account.video.upload: send a video to your TikTok inbox as a draft, which you finish and post yourself in the TikTok app.video.publish: post a video directly to your TikTok profile with the privacy setting you choose.
The app also reads your account's available posting options (such as allowed privacy levels) before posting. It does not access your followers, messages, likes, comments, viewing history or any other TikTok data.
How we use information
- OAuth tokens are used solely to upload videos the owner has explicitly chosen to publish.
- Video titles, descriptions and captions sent to YouTube or TikTok are generated by the app from the topic the owner provides.
- Data received from these platforms is not used for advertising, profiling or any purpose other than publishing the owner's videos.
Storage and security
OAuth tokens are stored as encrypted secrets in the app's private build environment and are never written to logs or shared publicly. Generated videos are stored in a private repository controlled by the owner.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share any user data with third parties. Videos and their captions are sent to YouTube or TikTok only to complete an upload the owner requested.
Google API Services
auto-vid's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The app also uses YouTube API Services; by using it you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
TikTok
auto-vid's use of TikTok follows TikTok's Terms of Service and developer terms. TikTok's handling of your data is described in the TikTok Privacy Policy.
Retention and deletion
Tokens are kept only while an account is connected. When access is revoked, or on request, the stored tokens are deleted. Published videos remain on the platform you posted them to and can be removed there at any time.
Revoking access
- Google/YouTube: remove the app in your Google Account's third-party access settings.
- TikTok: in the TikTok app, go to Settings and privacy → Security → Apps and services, and remove the app.
Once revoked, the app can no longer post to that account.
Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
